Matthew Olson has more than 15 years of experience as a paralegal with more than half of that time dedicated to the trusts and estates specialty. He is skilled at the preparation of probate documents and working with clients, appraisers, brokers, transfer agents, and financial advisors in the collection of financial information and ultimately in the marshaling and distribution of assets as set forth by the estate plan.
Matthew also works with the firm’s estate planning attorneys to assist clients in making lifetime gifts. He assists with the analysis of the tax effects of such gifts and works to determine the most effective means of making such gifts.
Matthew is an expert in the preparation of estate and gift tax returns as well as the fiduciary and individual income tax returns associated with estate administration. Matthew also manages the firm’s tax software, ensuring that it is kept up to date with the latest changes in tax law.
Matthew is the co-chairman of the Illinois Paralegal Association’s Trust and Estate Section.
